Grounded in Service
Committed to Community
Focused on Results
I’m Cassandra Aucoin—a proud wife, mom, military spouse and mom, and long-time Northern Virginian. I grew up in a military family, graduated from Lake Braddock High School, earned my degree from Virginia Tech, and now live in Reston with my husband, Joe, a Navy veteran. We’ve raised two wonderful children who attended Fairfax County Public Schools.
For over 35 years, I dedicated my career to public service, rising to senior leadership positions within the Department of Defense. I led major initiatives in strategic planning, billion-dollar budgeting, human resources, and organizational reform—always with a focus on accountability and results.
As a military spouse, I’ve worked to strengthen our military communities—founding and advising spouse support groups in Washington State and Japan.
Today, I’m passionate about bringing that same spirit of service and commonsense to our local government and community.
Outside of my professional life, I’m a lifelong sports fan, a devoted pet lover, and an enthusiastic traveler. Whether serving our country, raising a family, or exploring new places, I’m rooted in the values of family, service, and opportunity.
I’m running to restore commonsense leadership in Fairfax County—putting our community first, lowering taxes, tolls, and promoting a strong economy, protecting our neighborhoods, improving our schools and commutes, and standing up for Virginia’s Right to Work laws that protect workers and support small businesses.
